Binance adopted it in the 2023 contract swap that retired its own eighteen-decimal Binance-Peg TRX, so it is now what BEP-20 TRX means, but the mint authority is BitTorrent Chain's predicate contract rather than Binance or the TRON DAO, and the backing is whatever that bridge still holds.
