USDC.e is USD Coin that reached a chain through that chain's canonical bridge rather than being issued there by Circle. It coexists with native USDC on Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and Avalanche, trades as a separate token, and depends on the bridge holding the USDC that backs it.
